FMServer 11 into the modern world.

Stephen Wonfor-3
Hi

Wondering what modern Windows OS’s people have been able to run FMServer 11 in.  I have a client with a complicated setup that requires a single file to be hosted in FMS 11 - they created and own the complication, I just need to deal with it.
They are setting up a new server with some VM’s in it and we will need one for FMS11 - just wondering where to go with the OS for the VM.

We run Windows Server 2012 R2 on a few servers. It has been VERY stale and secure.

I recommend it.

Morgan

Thanks.  I trust you mean that you “run FMServer 11 on Windows Server 2012 R2”.

For another data point, we currently run FMS11 on Win2k8R2 but are
planning on moving to 2012R2 at some point.

RE: FMServer 11 into the modern world.

Richard DeShong
Just an fyi:  Win Server 2008 R2 (WS-2008-R2) is on the list of supported
OS's for FMS-11.  WS-2012 is not on the list because FMS-12 started shipping
in early 2012.  WS-2012 did not start shipping until mid-to-late 2012.  And
WS-2012-R2 (which has the enterprise features) did not ship until 2013.
