FM14 Webdirect issue

Sue Carter
I have a client with a solution on Filemaker Server 14 using Webdirect.
They have users from all other the country accessing the database.

One client in Sacramento keeps getting the spinning wheel, sometimes
when they've just logged in and other times after they entered some
data. I've checked that they are using the correct browsers and versions
as well as correct version of Java. They do not have anti-virus software
running. Users are all using the same security privilege set and no
scripts use case statements based on location.

Concurrent connections are not being exceeded.

I tried looking online to see if there are minimum hardware requirements
for a client computer to access via webdirect (ie min RAM, etc.) but
couldn't find anything (just browser requirements).

Because it's just one user out of 100s with this issue I'm pretty
certain it's something on their end but I'm not sure what else I should
be looking for.

I also have two other clients hosted on the same server who have no
issues with webdirect at all.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Did you search
* https://community.filemaker.com
for "blue spinning circle/wheel"? FMS14 & FMS15 seemed to have more reports on that.

Thanks David - however they have tried Chrome and I also had them clear
it's browsing history and cache. This helped for a little while (they
entered three records before the spinning wheel showed up again).

Hi Sue -

I have a suggestion.  You stated that you've had them try Chrome, which is also the browser I prefer.  With my own workstation, I've experienced all kinds of problems interacting with WebDirect hosted clients - and a solution I've found is to use Chrome in Incognito mode.  It turns off all plugins, and there is no history being logged..... and surprisingly almost all the WebDirect problems I was chasing went away.

Suggest you double-check you are not using a theme that is deprecated.
