360works server plugin install issue

dealtek@gmail.com
Hi all,

MAC - FMServer v15

I followed  the directions below and

1 - added the plugins to the sever extensions folder
2 - stopped and started the server
3 - check the box that says 'Enable FileMaker Server to use plug-ins'
4 - check the 'enabled' box for this plugin
5 - click save

the enabled check *stays checked* and file name is correct

BUT =  PLUG-IN NAME says "NOT LOADED".... ???

Is that correct?

http://static.360works.com/plugins/EMAILPLUG/documentation.html

Drag the plugin from the MAC (.fmplugin file) or WIN (.fmx64 file) folder into the FileMaker Server extensions folder. On Mac OS X, this is located at /Library/FileMaker Server/Database Server/Extensions folder. On Windows, this is at C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Server\Database Server\Extensions.
In the Server Admin application, restart FileMaker Server by stopping and starting it.
Go to Configuration -> Database Server->Server Plug-ins and check the box that says 'Enable FileMaker Server to use plug-ins', and then check the 'enabled' box for this plugin. Click the 'save' button and wait a few seconds to make sure that the 'enabled' check box stays checked. If it does not, then there was an error loading the plugin and you should contact us for help troubleshooting. You should now be able to write schedules that trigger scripts which use the plugin.

Re: 360works server plugin install issue

Also - not sure how to register the plugin on the server?

Q: do I have to use the registration function ---- how do I get this going? Do I have to add the plugin to LOCAL FMPro on the server machine then register or what?

Thanks dave

dir says:

Note that if you are running the plugin with FileMaker Server / FileMaker Web Publishing Engine, you must use the registration function to register the plugin, since there is no preferences dialog on FileMaker Server to enter the license key and company name.

Dave

Seems to me I had to restart the server more than once.  Once the plugin loaded I then ran a db script via a server schedule to register it.

Re: 360works server plugin install issue

So I tried this:

I had fm pro v15 on the local server machine (MAC YOSEMITE)

I added the plugin to the FMP app extensions folder
- when I tried to open the app is said FMP needs legacy Java SE 6 runtime

But now I'm scared  - cause I do not want to add extra Java to this machine BECAUSE FMS installed it's own Java for FMS 15.03

So I quit ...

Q: How do I get this sever machine registered for the server plugin?

Thanks - Dave

Thanks for the info Stephen - do you mean simply stopping the FMServer via the admin console - a few times?
you don't meant restart the whole machine - correct?

- update - I tried a few times to stop and start the server.... stayed the same

then when I tried to create a register script in a server file - there was NO external plugins to be found like:

EmailRegister( "xxx" ; "xxx" )

so I am still lost...

Thanks - Dave

Dave

There is the possibility that you have a license for a client-side plugin but not for server.  Client, Group, Workgroup, Enterprise, Portfolio etc.
